Volunteering with Translators without Borders is a purposeful opportunity to use your language skills to help people. It’s also a great way to build your professional portfolio, especially if you are just starting your career.
TWB volunteers have worked with organizations like American Red Cross, CARE, Concern Worldwide, Oxfam and a lot more, offering translation and language services to help increase their impact.
TWB volunteers work on content such as:
Health
Helping people access vital health information and make informed decisions about their wellbeing, especially during emergencies and crises.
Financial Inclusion
Forced Displacement
Climate Change
Translators without Borders volunteers work on translation, interpretation via our app, revision, voice-over, subtitling, and other language-related tasks. By becoming part of the TWB Community, you’ll join over 100,000 people from around the world, and get a chance to make meaningful change through language.
You’ll provide language support to local and global organizations, helping bridge communication gaps between them and people living through a crisis – and beyond. You’ll contribute significantly to making information accessible, inclusive, and useful to people who need that information in their language.

[...] TWB is, first of all, a very large community of translators, that you can access for advice and support. There are also plenty of resources to learn about the different aspects of the organisation and how to complete a task.
[...] TWB is also a self-development journey and you can learn a lot, as you go along helping others access valuable information.

I joined TWB in 2014 because I believe that together we can bring about the change. It was one of the best decisions I have made. It has broadened my horizons and my skills. By allowing me to reach millions of people in need, to make a change in their lives by making information available in the language they understand, it has also enriched me spiritually. It is my way of standing up for those in need, standing up against inequality, against injustice, against poverty and hunger.

Humanitarian translation differs from other translation types. In times of humanitarian emergencies, the most basic of phrases can change and save lives. The wonderful TWB community aids people in need to get vital information in the language they speak. Language barriers need to be overcome. Thank you, TWB for the opportunity to help people!
